Rocksoc is hosting the Alternative Ball, a rare opportunity to dress up nice in a place where nobody will be scowling at you for wearing the wrong type of shoes
(apart from maybe the hotel staff..)The event will be taking place at the Mariott hotel, on Saturday, 13th March and will provide a full 3 course meal, "special super secret entertainment" Which I know about and sounds pretty cool (certainly better than last years) and the chance to hang out and socialise (and rock out on the dancefloor) before and after
As usual they'e opened up the event to all the alt societies, anime, goth, punk, scifi etc so it's a great place to go meet some people with similar interests.
I believe tickets are £35. And there's plenty left for anyone considering a last minute decision, though obviously the hotel need to know numbers for table settings etc.

Menu:
Ok, we've decided the basic menu for the event now from the choices the Marriott gave us (sorry there's no options, we had to choose one set menu). For those veggies among us there will be a seperate menu which I will post up as soon as the Marriott get back to me about it, same for people with special dietry requirements. Cheers.
Starter: Roast Vine Tomato and Basil Soup with Garlic Herb Croutons
Main: Chicken Roulade with Goats Cheese and Thyme Wrapped in Pancetta, Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes
Dessert: Profiteroles with Chocolate and Rum Sauce
Currently each table (10 people) will also be getting two bottles of wine, a jug of beer and a jug of orange juice. We are trying to add another drinks package on top of that as well.
