Para Para
Popular with western convention-goers and generally lively anime fans, Para Para is a particular style of synchronised dancing. It emerged in cultish popularity in Japan (as things tend to), and spurned the release of various arcade and console games Para Para Paradise (Similar to DanceDanceRevolution).
The style basically involves stepping from side to side whilst doing various complex arm movements (think Steps style) to fast paced Japanese pop and Eurobeat.
ParaPara practice sessions are normally held in the lounge, once a week.

Experienced members are usually on hand to help teach the inexperienced (of which there are generally many) and generally laugh about the cheesy brilliance of it all. For those not so inclined, there is also a fair amount of amusement to be gained by watching the shenanigans that ensue.
Here’s a video of some of the team from a few years back in all their spasmic glory.
